June consumer confidence lowest since 1996
Unemployment, economic worries behind fall says Istat

(ANSA) - Rome, June 22 - Italy's consumer confidence index
slumped to its lowest in June since records began in 1996, Istat
said Friday.The index fell from 86.5 points in May to 85.3 in June, the latest in a long string of falls.
Worries about unemployment and the deteriorating economic situation were behind the fall, the national statistics agency said.
