(ANSAMed) - ROME, AUGUST 10 - As stipulated within the
bilateral Tripoli Declaration of January 2012, Italian aid to
survivors of the uprising that ousted Libya's dictator Gheddhafi
is ongoing, the Italian Foreign Ministry said in a communique on
Friday.
With the Declaration, is Italy committed to treating 1,500 Libyan survivors in need of specialized care, in a pavilion in Rome's San Camillo Forlani Hospital. The first patients were admitted a month ago, the communique said.
A medical delegation from the Lazio region recently traveled to Tripoli, where it met with Health Minister Fatima Hamroush and visited 150 survivors of the uprising, many of them children.
Hamroush thanked Italy for its care, and stressed that this kind of medical cooperation is of fundamental importance for her country, the communique said. (ANSAMed).
