(ANSAmed) - TURIN, JUNE 14 - "In a potential phase 2 of the
UN mission (of the observers, Ed.) there might be the chance to
invoke Chapter 7,'' said Italian Foreign Minister Giulio Terzi
in reference to the Syrian crisis during a meeting today in
Turin. He then specified that this would entail "equipping the
mission with the means enabling it to operate more freely in the
country, with greater security."
As far as Russia's role is concerned, Terzi said that "it is
common belief that a certain consciousness is maturing in
Moscow," concerning the need to work on "a process of
transformation of Syrian politics and thus finding a political
solution to this international emergency."
Moscow has recently been accused by the USA of supplying
Damascus with weapons and combat helicopters. (ANSAmed).
