(ANSAmed) - ANKARA, AUGUST 8 - Three girls aged 16-17 were killed with 11 other militants of the PKK Kurdish rebels in the attack on August 5 against an army outpost in Gecimli, turkish Kurdistan, as it has been reported today by the dayly newspaper Radikal, which quoted the results of autopsies.

In the attack the Kurdish separatist armed group of militants had killed eight Turkish soldiers and wounded 15 others.

According to Radikal, the three girls were armed only with hand grenades.

The newspaper writes that the PKK would use young militants in the attacks to infiltrate the army outposts. According to the Turkish press, the Kurdish armed group has launched a major offensive in the south-east of the country from 23 July.

Islamic nationalist Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has accused the Syrian government to help the Kurdish rebels. Turkey supports anti-Assad Sunni insurgents in Syria.(ANSAmed).
