According to the Enpi website (www.enpi-info.eu), the Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) and the Anna Lindh Foundation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance their mutual cooperation and joint efforts to boost the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership. Both institutions agreed on a greater exchange of information between both institutions, on regular invitations to each other's activities, and to a greater strategic partnership. The Secretary General of the UfM, Fathallah Sujilmassi, will attend the first meeting of the new Advisory Council of the Anna Lindh Foundation that will take place in Istanbul at the end of June. It was also agreed to join efforts for the upcoming Anna Lindh Mediterranean Forum in Marseille, which will bring together more than a thousand civil society representatives from the Euro-Mediterranean region from 4-7 April 2012.
The Anna Lindh Foundation for Inter-Cultural Dialogue promotes knowledge, mutual respect and inter-cultural dialogue between the people of the Euro-Mediterranean region, working through a network of more than 3,000 civil society organisations in 43 countries. Its budget is co-funded by the EU (7 million euros) and the EU member states (6 million euros). (ANSAme
