(ANSAmed) - TUNIS, MAY 25 - Tunisia Holding has announced a
project destined to make the Siliana region the country's main
wheat producing area, thanks to the employment of the most
advanced technologies in the food research sector and an
investment of around 650 million dinars (325 million euros).
According to Tunisia Holding, the project will generate thousands of jobs, both directly and indirectly. On the fringes of a press conference to present the project (named ''Maktaris'') it was said that once running at full capacity it could actually end up providing employment for tens of thousands, according to the most optimistic outlooks.
Tunisia Holding is the latest addition to the Slim Riahi group, founded in 1996 through Cifex World, a construction firm specialising in oil rigs and luxury hotels. (ANSAmed).
