(ANSAmed) - BRUSSELS, JANUARY 28 - The EU-funded Euromed
Audiovisual III Programme invites all South Mediterranean
filmmakers to apply to its short film contest ''MADE in MED''
and to win the possibility to take part to Cannes Film Festival
2013. The competition is open for filmmakers from Algeria,
Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestinian
Territories, Syria and Tunisia, as well as for authors from
other nationalities who live in one of the countries above.
According to the Enpi website (www.enpi-info.eu), the contest includes three different short film competitions around three subjects: Talking 'bout (A)rab Revolution - The Arab Spring in Focus; Euromed-itation - Tales from the Mediterranean; Preserving the Med - Environmental heritage around the Mediterranean. The duration of the short films must be comprised between 2 and 10 minutes. The deadline for submission of application is 28 February 2013.
In each competition, the films and the authors will benefit from a promotion within the Short Film Corner of the Cannes Film Festival (accreditation + networking + presence on the stand + participation to the conference and events). Similarly, a public audience, voting for its favourite film, will choose the second winner (one per section), which will receive an honorific prize.
In total, six prizes will be awarded. The best 30 selected short films - 10 per each competition - will be disseminated on the Internet onwww.euromedaudiovisuel.net from April 2013.
