The Task Force and the Joint Monitoring Committee will meet to discuss the selection process for the European initiative's strategic projects, financing for which totals around 110 million euros. The importance of the meeting is shown by the attendance of the European Commission, which will be led by the head of trans-national and inter-regional cooperation, Vicente Rodriguez Saez, and Fausta Corda, who is also representing the EC. All representatives of countries taking part in the IPA Adriatic CBC Programme will also be present, with co-presidency held by the Joint Monitoring Committee (JMC) of the host country.
IPA Adriatic involves eight countries (Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania, Serbia, Greece and Italy) while Italian regions are present in the shape of Abruzzo (the regional leader of the project), Friuli Venezia Giulia, Veneto, Emilia Romagna, Marche, Puglia and Molise. The programme has total financing of around 280 million euros and aims to harmonise the Adriatic cross-border area with cooperation in the institutional, economic, cultural, tourism, environmental and infrastructure sectors.
