(ANSAmed) - ROME, MAY 3 - CinemaSpagna returns to Rome. The Spanish Film Festival is on from tomorrow until May 10 and will present the roman public with the latest works in Iberian cinema, from feature films to animations. In its fifth year, the event directed by Iris Martín Peralta and Federico Sartori will be hosted at the Cinema Farnese Persol in Campo dè Fiori. Inaugurating the review tomorrow night at 21:00 will be the Italian premiere of "No habrá paz para los malvados", the noir-thriller directed by Enrique Urbizu and interpreted by Josè Coronado. Both men will be there to present the film which also recently beat Pedro Almodovar's movie by winning six Goya Awards. There are many films in programme this week during the Iberian film fest: from the winner of the San Sebastian Festival, "Los Pasos Dobles" by Isaki Lacuesta, a road-movie entirely shot in Mali which tells the story of painter François Augiéras (Miquel Barceló), to "Primos" a comedy by Daniel Sánchez-Arévalo, with Inma Cuesta. Another film is "Puzzled Love" a movie made by thirteen directors for thirteen episodes telling one story: the latter is an innovative project shot by last year students at the ESCAC film school in Barcelona.

The retrospective "3 comedias +1" is dedicated instead to die-hard comedy and is made up of titles which are by now in the fabric of Spanish cinema itself: "Familia" (1996) Fernando León de Aranoa's Goya winning debut, "Sin vergüenza" (2001), by Joaquín Oristrell, a masterpiece on the actors' world with Verónica Forqué (Almodovar's "Kika"); "El otro lado de la cama" (2002), by Emilio Martínez-Lázaro, with Ernesto Alterio and Paz Vega, and "Días de fútbol" (2003), by David Serrano with Fernando Tejero, winner of the Goya Award for best upcoming actor.

CinemaSpagna also wants to pay tribute to the genius of Luis Buñuel with the special screening of "El ángel Exterminador" (The Exterminating Angel) celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of the 1962 film which won the FIPRESCI award at the Cannes Film Festival. Another tribute also goes to "Simon del desierto" (Simon of the desert), his unfinished 1965 film which won the Silver Lion and the FIPRESCI award at the Venice Film Festival.

The Spanish Film Festival is produced by EXIT media in collaboration with the Spanish Embassy, the Royal Spanish Academy, the Cervantes Institute of Rome, Turespaña, the Ramon Llull institute and the ICAA (Instituto de Cinematografía y de las Artes Audiovisuales). (ANSAmed).
