Cooperation process initiated: loans to arrive

03 May, 13:57

(ANSAmed) - TUNIS, MAY 3 - A two day visit in Tunisia begins today for Thomas Mirow, President of the European Bank for reconstruction and development (EBRD). It is Mirow's first visit to Tunisia since his appointment as head of EBRD, of which Tunisia became a member in December last year.

The European bank for reconstruction and development has been present with a provisional office in Tunisia since the first of March but has already initiated its activity thanks to some projects of technical cooperation for which the EBRD has already given out 100 million euros to be split between Egypt, Jordan and Morocco. The EBRD plans to annually allocate loans for two and a half billion euros to Egypt, Morocco and Jordan to aid them in their transition towards decmocracy.(ANSAmed).
