(ANSAmed) - BELGRADE, MAY 22 - The Gay Pride will be held in Belgrade this year on October 6, it was announced today by the organizing committee, pointing out that the gay parade will be the culmination of a week of events and demonstrations which will begin on September 30. The Gay Pride's slogan will be "Love, Faith, Hope" Boban Stojanovic, a member of the organization, told the press. Last year the Belgrade Gay Pride had been cancelled in fear of clashes and violence due to the threats of extremist groups of ultranationalist homophobes, intentioned to prevent in any way the parade from taking place. In 2010 the Gay Pride took place but ended with violent fighting between police and right-wing extremists resulting in hundreds of arrests and people being injured. (ANSAmed).
