Kocijancic expressed Brussels' ''congratulations'' to the Serbian people ''for the peaceful parliamentary and presidential elections held yesterday''. The EU has thus shown its appreciation for the work carried out by OSCE and the security forces of Eulex and Kfor during the election process. ''We of course await the result of the second round of the presidential election'' Ashton's spokesperson pointed out, stating that this is ''only a preliminary reaction'' from Brussels before the official report from OSCE and the Serbian Electoral Commission.
Only then will it be possible for the EU to present ''a clearer stance'' Kocijancic said, in which it will be possible to take care of ''the problems which will emerge.'' (ANSAmed).
