20 September, 11:54

(ANSAmed) - DOHA, SEPTEMBER 20 - Doha’s Village Mall reopened today after four months following a fire on May 28 this year which caused 19 victims including 13 children. The mother of triplets who died in the fire told Doha News that ‘one of the hardest things when you lose your children is seeing how fast the world goes back to normal while you remain devastated’.

The mall had been heavily damaged by the fire which had required fireguards to enter the building through its roof in order to extinguish the flames.

The 125.000 square meters mall will reopen gradually. Only one wing opened this morning. More stores will open in the afternoon and in the following weeks. The VIP area hosting several leading Italian brands opened its doors this morning.
