(ANSAmed) - RABAT, JUNE 28 - Morocco, through its ambassador
at the United Nations, Omar Hilale, has launched an appeal to
the international community to ''double its efforts to come to a
political solution for the Syrian crisis, in the lines of the
Kofi Annan plan, in response to the legitimate aspirations for
liberty, democracy and development of our Syrian brothers."
The ambassador made this request on the occasion of the
presentation of the report drafted by the commission that
investigates the violence in Syria.
Hilale, Moroccan press agency MAP writes, said that Morocco
strongly denounces the murder and brutal treatment of innocent
civilians, as well as the abuse of women and children, sexual
violence in particular, ''flagrant violations of human rights."
The massacre of El-Houleh ''is an unjustifiable, unacceptable
act condemnable by international law." The violence bust end
immediately, in line with the multiple appeals made by the Human
Rights Council and the Security Council, the Moroccan ambassador
continued, adding that ''the immediate cessation of this
violence is indispensible to allow humanitarian assistance to
reach more than one and a half million people who need help."
