(ANSAmed) - ROME, MAY 09 - ''We are convinced that the path
of reforms and institutional consolidation in Libya is
proceeding, if with difficulties that are clear to us all. And
Italy is supporting this with vigour''. Italy's Foreign Minister
Giulio Terzi said today, while announcing a meeting on Saturday
at the Foreign Office with his Libyan counterpart Ashur Saad Ben
Khaial.
''The elections ought to be held on the planned date, so we
have reasons for being reasonably confident about what is
happening in Libya,'' Mr Terzi said, adding that with Mr Khaial
there will be a ''wide-ranging discussion over bilateral
collaboration in policies, security and the economy''.
