Mile Kovacevic, the head of the RS's football association (FSRS), has said that there is no reason for the Republika Srpska not to receive similar treatment, as it is a fully paid-up member of the Bosnian football association (FSBIH), a body organised by both the world and European football governing bodies, FIFA and UEFA.
''It is not positive that Kosovo has been given this possibility [like Serbia, the RS refuses to recognise Pristina's independence], but it is positive for the Republika Srpska, and we can now also hope to be able to play friendies,'' Kovacevic told the newspaper Glas Srpske.
FIFA's decision in favour of Kosovo brought an immediate reaction from the Serbian football association (FSS), which has demanded an urgent meeting with the heads of FIFA and UEFA, Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini. (ANSAmed).
