Call for efforts to revive peace between Palestinians and Israel

(ANSAmed) - AMMAN, NOVEMBER 22 - King Abdullah of Jordan on Thursday met with UN secretary general Ban Ki Moon and discussed efforts to maintain the ceasefire between Hamas and Israel and end the conflict in Syria, Petra news agency said.

The UN official arrived in Jordan as part of a regional tour hours after Hamas and Israel agreed a ceasefire agreement under Egyptian guarantee.

"The king and the UN secretary general called for renewed efforts to revive peace talks between the Palestinians and Israel on the basis of two state solution," said the statement.

Jordan monarch also called for aid to Gaza in the aftermath of Israel attack, said Petra.

The UN top official also discussed with king Abdullah Syria crisis and means to end the rising violence in the neighboring country.(ANSAmed).
