Mideast: Israel, Netanyahu wants early elections on 4/9

07 May, 12:20

(ANSAmed) - JERUSALEM, MAY 7 - Israeli premier Benyamin Netanyahu today suggested the government to hold the general elections on an earlier date, namely on September 4. If the proposal is accepted (which seems highly likely), the Knesset (Israeli parliament) will today start to dissolve the parliament, earlier than the scheduled date in November 2013.

Yesterday Netanyahu explained during the congress of the Likud party why he wants early elections, specifying that he hopes to see these elections within ''four months''.(ANSAmed).
