Crisis: Greece, today new meeting Sturnaras-Troika

Press, accord could be finalized by Sunday

(ANSAmed) - ATHENS, SEPTEMBER 21 - Meetings between members of the Greek government and international creditors to discuss an austerity plan necessary to obtain new aid worth 31.5 billion euros are continuing.

This afternoon the Finance Minister Giannis Sturnaras will meet new representatives of the troika, Germany's Matthias Mors (EU) and Klaus Mazuch (ECB) and Denmark's Paul Tomsen (IMF) to re-examine the situation after their meeting last night which ended shortly before midnight. At the end of the meeting all sides appeared optimistic, according to sources close to the Finance Ministry, on the possibility to finalize the plan by Sunday, September 23.

'The divergences were overcome and everything will be concluded before Sunday', the online version of the Kathimerini daily reported today, citing sources close to the ministry.

According to journalism sources, representatives of the troika will leave Greece Sunday or next Monday to return before the eurozone meeting scheduled on October 8. (ANSAmed).
