(ANSAmed) - ATHENS, 11 MAY - The proposal of an "ecumenical
government" including pro-EU parties brought about by the leader
of Democratic Left Fotis Kouvelis "is very similar to ours and
should be taken in due consideration." To sum up, this is what
the leader of Nea Dimocratia Antonis Samaras stated today, while
he was talking with the members of his party's parliamentary
group about the meeting with Pasok leader Evanghelos Venizelos
which took place earlier today. Yesterday, Venizelos started to
carry out negotiations aimed at forming a new government.
Kouvelis' proposal, Samaras added, "is similar to ours, because,
among other things, it is based on three main points: Greece's
permanence in the European Union, the revision of the Memorandum
and participation in the government of Syriza (Coalition of the
Left)", led by Alexis Tsipras. However, Samaras concluded by
saying that it's about time for Syriza to accept its
responsibilities if it aims at being part of the government.
