Cyprus: government's deficit falls by 0.8% of GDP in Q1

(ANSAmed) - NICOSIA, MAY 21 - The deficit of the Cyprus' government in the first quarter of 2012 reduced to 148 million euros, or 0.8% of GDP, compared to 310 million euros deficit or 1.7% of GDP in the same period of 2011, as Famagusta Gazette reports. The reduction by 162.7 million euros of the government's deficit during the first three months of 2012 is due to the increase of the total revenue by 9.5% and to the reduction of total expenditures by 0.6%.
